Dick Patterson submitted a couple of past expenses for the Port dock repairs.

Commissioner Reports:

Commissioner O’Laughlin met with the owners of IGA they are very pleased with the contractor working on the septic system. The road is in and the drain field is being constructed.  It was suggested by the Purvis’ to make a BIG sign that says ‘Public Restrooms’ compliments of the Port of Hoodsport & IGA.  Commissioner O’Laughlin pointed out overhead costs have been cut by 60%.  No executive meetings were held in 2012. In the last 3 years the current Port Commissioners work in sync and have never had a 2-1 vote.  Commissioner Brazil and Commissioner Petz attended the Tree Lighting ceremony & festivities.

Port Maintenance Reports:

Christmas tree is doing great!  Lights at the bottom were shorting out but are now working properly.  It was suggested a sign be made that says ‘Welcome to Hoodsport’ and list the Port of Hoodsport, Kiwanis & Lions, in addition to the Public Restroom Sign.  Another section of the Port dock needs to be addressed because of separation in the middle at the end.  The Hoodsport Trail Park is closed for the winter.  Hay & Seed are on hold until spring due to excessive rain.  The water lines will be drained down until the Polar Bear plunge event.

Port Operations Manager Report:

Waiting for WA L & I to approve drawings.  Discussed the Port commissioner’s receipt of the revised Port development of the Shoreline Master Program email from Judy Scott, Commisioner from the Port of Allyn.  Discussed crab pots that are left tied to the Port dock unattended.  Spoke to the Washington State Fish & Wildlife and the state rules are: Crabbing season is open through the end of December 2012.  Crab pots that are left unattended must have a name & address on the buoy and a fishing license, otherwise it is considered poaching and to call 911 or Fish & Wildlife enforcement.   The Port Commissioners established a rule that crab pots & crab rings must not be left unattended, signs will be made.  The Port’s Mission statement was reviewed and will be discussed in detail at the upcoming strategic planning session.
