Approval of Minutes

Don LeMaster made a motion to approve the minutes from the Executive Advisory Board Meeting on September 12, 2007.  The motion was approved unanimously.

Action Items

Mr. LeMaster gave an update on the Dennis Craig Memorial at Staircase.  A letter has been sent to the State but they should be contacted to make sure the project is moving forward.

Old Business

Pumpout

Commissioner Benavente informed Mr. LeMaster that the pump out equipment bid was awarded, however we need to wait until the permits are approved before any of the equipment is ordered.

The Small Works Roster Resolution needs to be approved before we can call for bids for the pump out.  Cindy Adams added that she has prepared the Invitation to Bid and once the Resolution is recorded she can begin contacting contractors.

Mr. LeMaster discussed with Commissioner Benavente the pump system and its components.  There will be an alarm system on the pump which will indicate when the septic tank is full.

Bids are scheduled to be due November 8th by 10:00 a.m.

Dock Repair

Commissioner Benavente was able to take the dock section apart and get the appropriate measurements.  Commissioner Benavente has been in contact with Dock Builders, a dock repair contractor, to get prices on new metal brackets for the dock.  It will be approximately two weeks before we get a price.  Repair will require a minimum of 4 bolts on each side with a total of 16, 8” long bolts.  Some of the spikes that hold the boards down also need replaced.

Mr. LaMaster asked if there is budget to make the repairs and Commissioner Benavente stated that there is money available in the budget to make the repairs.

New Business

Commissioner Benavente discussed the solicitation letter that was sent out to local organizations to participate on the EAB Board.  There has been some response from some of the groups and it appears that there will be new attendees at the upcoming meeting.    At the Boosters Club Presentation members voiced their concerns with upcoming projects and how they will be facilitated.

Mr. LeMaster stated that in the past initially there has been support from the local groups, however, as the process slows, people tend to loose enthusiasm and get discouraged.  Also feels there should be more information made available about the Port of Hoodsport and what the functions or the Port are.

Commissioner Benavente agreed that community support is essential in getting projects going and completed.

Commissioner Benavente discussed with Mr. LeMaster the list of upcoming projects from a community survey that was completed.  Sewer systems and stormwater runoff are major issues.  Mason County is in the process of completing a Stormwater Plan for the Hoodsport area.

Tall Ship

Mr. LeMaster said that nothing appears to be happening with the Sultana. It appears that the Wiwona may be moved on land at Lake Union.  Should try and get a representative from the Sultana to the next meeting.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 a.m.
