Commissioner Benavente made a motion to “Approve the minutes from the regular meeting held on July 11, 2007 as presented.” The motion was approved unanimously.

Approval of Vouchers

Commissioner Benavente made a motion to “Approve vouchers for the Mason County Auditor for 2nd quarter consolidated mailing costs in the amount of $2.66; R&G Handyman services for park and dock maintenance and for the purchase of 8 lights for the dock for a total of $636.26; and Carol Ferguson for administrative services and mileage in the amount of $552.30.” The motion was approved unanimously.

Commissioner Benavente made a motion to “pre-approve recurring vouchers for the month of August.” The motion was approved unanimously.

Agenda Changes

Since we’re running late, and Commissioner Young cannot attend, Commissioner Patterson suggested that we move most of the items to the next agenda.

Open Items

Action Items

Pumpout

Commissioner Benavente received a request from the county for more information. He hasn’t had time to type up a response and asked that Carol help with it. They will get together in the next few days to discuss what’s needed.

Dock Repair

Commissioner Patterson has still not been able to reach Wil Clark. His secretary, Sheila, suggested that we reach him by blackberry, but Commissioner Patterson doesn’t know how to do that. Commissioner Benavente feels that we should wait for him to respond to our letter.

Meanwhile, he has opened up the end of the dock and said that it looks like they put in one new lag bolt that isn’t doing anything to hold it together. He thinks that we have to put in a new “L” bracket, about 8 or 10 in. per side on the inside, with a longer bracket on the outside. He thinks that we could take a copy of the design specs to a marine builder and have them make the brackets we need. We should also replace the long screws/bolts. He thinks that we could get the parts for $300 or $400, and will look into it. He suggested that, if Commissioner Patterson reaches Wil Clark, we should tell Mr. Clark that we can’t wait for repairs and that we will go ahead without him. Commissioner Benavente will have more specifics at the next meeting.

Individual Commissioners’ Reports

Commissioner Benavente reported that he would attend a Public Meeting tonight at Lake Cushman regarding development of a parcel of land.

Commissioner Benavente has a meeting scheduled with Brett from CTED on August 1st at 9:00 a.m. He invited Commissioner Patterson to attend.

Commissioner Patterson reported that he hasn’t been able to contact the rock remover to get the Small Works Roster completed. He will get that done soon.

Correspondence

We received the June financial reports and invitations for the commissioners to the opening ceremony for the Mason County Fair. We also received seven resumes for Carol’s position. The commissioners will review them before the next meeting.

We’ve taken in $110 in moorage fees since the last meeting.
